More Info:

In 2011, at the age of 61, Singer-Songwriter Judy Fjell embarked on something new - a recording of several of the guitar solos she has written over the years. Supported by a grant from the Myrna Loy Center of Helena, Montana, she began practicing the instrumental gems, hoping to set them down in a finished form. Much to her surprise, a cascade of new songs, and arrangements of many favorites from her lifelong repertoire of performing and singing, began to pour out from her fingers and her beloved Kitty Wells Martin guitar. In 2013, after hundreds of hours of polishing and refining, Judy recorded the collection of songs and released them on the CD 'Goin' Over Home.' The response to the CD has been superlative - fans and reviewers love it! As one fan said, "I felt the lyrics coming through her hands -- I could hear Judy singing through her guitar." Audiences and critics have long remarked on Judy's warm, energetic stage presence and her gifts as a singer-songwriter and performer. Now they are adding their praise for Judy as a solo guitarist. A musician's life can take many turns! Judy's active singer/songwriter career has spanned four decades and has led to thousands of appearances from California to the New York Island (not to mention Japan, Chicago, New Mexico, and Fargo). She's written over two hundred songs and still sings about the world and the planet with reverence, humor, and a beautiful musical delivery. Her girlhood in a remote rural community in Montana 'where the mountains meet the prairie' seems to have provided an excellent perspective for a songwriter and guitar player.
